🎶 My Music Is Not on the Correct Artist Page
🎶 My Music Is Not on the Correct Artist Page
When you make a distribution request, Wiseband does its best to ensure that your release gets to the right place at the right time. However, once your music is sent to the platforms, it is formatted, sorted, and then assigned to an artist profile. In some cases, the profile may belong to another artist who has the same name as you. No worries, we have all the tools needed to fix this!
📢 Solutions to Common Artist Mapping Issues
1️⃣ On Spotify
- You need to be logged into your Spotify For Artists account and check your artist profile. You can sign up here by following our guide in our Spotify For Artists article.
- Go to the “Spotify Content-Mismatch” portal: https://artists.spotify.com/c/content-mismatch
- Select the artist name linked to your account.
- Choose “A portion of my music is on another artist’s profile”.
- Provide the link to the incorrect artist page.
- Provide the link to your single, EP, or album in question, then validate!
Note: Spotify can take up to 15 days (be patient 🙂 ) to process the artist mapping request.
2️⃣ On Apple Music
- You need to be logged into your Apple Music For Artists account. You can sign up [here]() by following our guide in our Apple Music for Artists article.
- On a computer, scroll down and click on “contact us”. In the app, click on your profile in the top-right corner and select “contact us” as well.
- You will then be asked for the artist's information, including the name and the link to the Apple Music artist page.
- In "Topic", select "Artist Page Issues".
- You will need to provide the links of references that need to be removed from the page (if any) and indicate the ones that are missing (if any).
3️⃣ On Amazon Music
- You need to be logged into your Amazon Music For Artists account. You can sign up [here]() by following our guide in our Amazon Music for Artists article.
- Go to “user settings”.
- Select “report a problem”.
- Check the box “My content is on a different artist profile”.
- Enter your artist name.
- If you don't have an artist page yet (for your first release), Amazon Music will offer you to create one.
- Then select the reference to display on your artist page and validate.
Note: The processing of an artist mapping request on Amazon Music can take up to 28 days.
📢 In the Reverse Case, Another Artist’s Music Is on My Page
- On Spotify: Perform the same steps as above but check the box “Another artist’s music is on my profile” and provide the link to the album to be removed from your page.
- On Amazon Music: Perform the same steps as above but check the box “My artist profile contains incorrect information” and indicate which references should be kept or removed from your Amazon Music page.
📢 Other Platforms
To request a correction on other platforms (Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, Napster, Yandex, YouTube Music, or others), for urgent requests, or to anticipate the issue, you can make a request via this form (one request per platform):
To request from Wiseband: https://bit.ly/36fISih
📢 Advice to Avoid Issues
The simplest approach is to choose a unique and easily identifiable artist name. There's no need to go for something like the unpronounceable techno artist SHXCXCHCXSH. A quick search on the platforms can help you resolve the issue fast!
📢 Upcoming Improvements
These page attribution errors (artist mapping) should disappear in the coming months with the introduction of ISNI codes (International Standard Name Identifier) on platforms. This will create a unique code for each artist. We are currently working on supporting these codes.
