🎶 How to Resolve Artist Mapping Errors on Platforms?

When you make a distribution request, Wiseband does its best to ensure your release reaches the right place at the right time. However, once your music is sent to the platforms, it is formatted, sorted, and then assigned to an artist profile. In some cases, the profile might belong to another artist who shares the same name as you. No worries, we have all the necessary tools to fix this!

📢 Solutions to Different Artist Mapping Errors:

1️⃣ Artist Mapping Error on Spotify

  • Log in to your Spotify For Artists account. You can sign up here by following our advice in our Spotify For Artists article.
  • Go to the "Spotify Content-Mismatch" portal: https://artists.spotify.com/c/content-mismatch
  • Select the artist name attached to your account.
  • Choose "Some of my music is on another artist's profile".
  • Provide the link to the incorrect artist's page.
  • Provide the link to your single, EP, or album in question and validate.
  • Note: Spotify may take up to 15 days to process an artist mapping request. Be patient 🙂.

2️⃣ Artist Mapping Error on Apple Music

  • Log in to your Apple Music For Artists account. You can sign up here by following our advice in our Apple Music For Artists article.
  • On desktop, scroll down and click on "contact us". On the app, click your profile at the top right and select "contact us" as well.
  • You will be asked for the artist's information, including their name and the Apple Music artist page link.
  • In the "Topic" section, select "Artist Page Issues".
  • Then, provide the links to the references that need to be removed from the page (if any), and indicate those that are missing (if any).

3️⃣ Artist Mapping Error on Amazon Music

  • Log in to your Amazon Music For Artists account. You can sign up here by following our advice in our Amazon Music For Artists article.
  • Go to "user settings".
  • Select "report a problem".
  • Check the box "My content is on a different artist profile".
  • Enter your artist name. If you don’t have an artist page yet (in the case of your first release), Amazon Music will offer to create one.
  • Then select the reference to display on your artist page and validate.
  • Note: Processing an artist mapping request may take up to 28 days with Amazon Music.

🔄 In the Opposite Case: Another Artist's Music is on My Page

1️⃣ On Spotify:

Follow the same process as above but check the box "Another artist’s music is on my profile".

  • Provide the Spotify link to the album that needs to be removed from your page.

2️⃣ On Amazon Music:

Follow the same process as above but check the box "My artist profile contains incorrect information".

  • Specify which references to keep and remove from your Amazon Music page.

📢 For Other Platforms

To request corrections on other platforms (Deezer, Qobuz, Tidal, Napster, Yandex, YouTube Music, etc.), for urgent requests, or to preemptively address the issue, you can make a request via this form (one request per platform):

To request from Wiseband: https://bit.ly/36fISih

💡 Tip to Avoid This Issue

The easiest way to avoid this problem is to choose a unique and easily identifiable artist name.

There's no need to be like the unpronounceable techno artist SHXCXCHCXSH. A quick search on the platforms can help resolve the issue!
